Sophie’s Edified

I know most of the people who read our very first article about Sophie’s PAHIYAS experience are wondering what happened to us. You might be thinking if we are just another epic fail or just another sad story. Well, I’m afraid not. That is why we would like to share to you our roller coaster ride as we continue sharing good food to your pallets.

After the May 15 event that we had a sold out, a lot of windows of opportunity came to us. One of which is getting to know a lot of people who appreciated Sophie’s Gourmet.  It was then that we got to meet our very first distributor, “PJ” from La Union (Thanks Sir PJ!). Likewise, Sophie’s Gourmet, with the help and guidance of Association of Laguna Food Processors (ALAFOP) and Department of Trade and Industries (DTI) Region 4A, was also chosen to be an exhibitor in FRANCHISE ASIA 2016 (Lang naman. Hehehe) held in SMX Convention Center last July. This once in a lifetime experience lead us to events after events and expos after expos. (Special thanks to our leaders Ms. Lorie, Sir Clarke and our ultimate inspiration Ms. Sheril Quintana of ORYSPA). Not to mention the fellow exhibitors from ALAFOP that are kind hearted enough to share a piece of advice to a new comer like us.

To date Sophie’s Gourmet applied for its FDA and IPO license last August in keeping abreast with international standards. By doing so, all of you could enjoy your favorite bottled sardines wherever you are (SM Supermarkets and Taiwan here we come!). Not only that, but we are so humbled by the positive feedbacks that we got from our FB and IG followers. From 20 family members and die hard friends who liked our page, Sophie’s Gourmet increased its followers by leaps and bounds. Although it’s not yet in the 500K mark (I exaggerate a lot.), we believe that our product will reach all of you around the globe (kapit lang). So let’s keep the fire burning with new distributors from Batangas, Pasig, Cavite, and CAMANAVA.

True enough putting up a business takes a lot of pain and hardship in order to meet ends. But it is the passion and love for hard work that our family thrives for. Thanks to our parents, especially to our Mom Pining who amidst her age (joke Mommy!) continues to learn the ropes of SMEs, to our Dad Peping for always being the go-to-guy of mom, to Nancy (the best friend) all the way from US for her endless support, to Ate Thea for being the brain of Sophie’s birth to this world (have faith Ate!), to Francis and Asi for being our 24 hour production mean machine (Tulog din kapag may time), to my wife Jhea and friend Dharyll (the FREElance) for the weekly brainstorming (leaving everyone with hemorrhage), and of course to Kuya Miki (unico hijo) for the little errands.

Thank you Lord for the gift of family.

Sophie’s Gourmet is all about family. Perhaps this is the reason why we look at our product differently. It is more than a food that satisfies an empty stomach. We believe that inside every bottle are stories that fills-up the heart.

And this is what we would like to share with you…
